Short post on a 32" Samsung TV power supply fix.
Here's the board. It's labeled HANARO3 32" HD Rev 1.1 and HVD32HD:
The controller IC / mosfet (an Infineon ICE3BR0665J) had vaporized the mosfet drain pin and blew it's safety fuse.
So after checking a few other parts downstream I replaced the fuse and the IC. And tada!
The days of fixing old CLF tv power supplies may be dwindling as LED's take the floor. Nevertheless it's good to get away from software whenever possible and work on some hardware.
Thanks to my old co-worker Doug for explaining how some of the components work why the're used! Much appreciated!
